Common Ground Gallery held a reception Friday night for Rebound: Symbolic Dreams by Collette Broeders and Samantha Therrien.

Both artists derive their inspiration from the works of Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung. The focus was placed on images which may appear in dreams. The idea behind the works was to give the viewer a feeling of looking into a dream. At the same time the works illustrate the fleeting nature of dreams. There is a sense of vague recollection about the art. In addition to the digitally created images, there are 3 dimensional collages and drawings in Conté crayon.

Each artist seeks to explore the strange world of dreams and the human subconscious. They share this world with us by creating and exhibiting these works of art. The title of the show comes from the name of the hanging centerpiece.
