The fog Thursday morning created a vaguely impressionistic atmosphere that was perfect for taking photos. Not all photos have to be crisp and clean. Blur and haze can often convey emotions and create feelings that a crisp picture would not. It is something that is absolutely beyond the control of the photographer, and that is what makes it stand out. It is arbitrary nature that cannot be harnessed.
After all, photography is as much an art form as it is a tool of documentation.
