Tonight meeting is the final meeting for the current sitting council, and as has been the case in the past few weeks since the election, this week’s agenda is light.
Council will be asked to approve the Recommended Transition Plan for Environmental Services workers, who will be moving to other city departments once the contactor assumes Waster and recycling pick up. No workers will lose their jobs, but will take on new job positions within the city.
The Gino A. Marcus Community Centre will be re-named the Gino & Liz Marcus Community Centre, at the request of the Ford City BIA. The BIA wants to add Li’s name to the center as away to honour her, because she had so much to do with both the revitalization of Drouillard Road and Holy Rosary Church.
