It’s time to pull out your red and white and celebrate the mighty maple leaf!
Canada Day takes place Saturday July 1st and if you’re looking for things to do to fill up your long Holiday Weekend and get your summer started right head to our Canada Day Guide and discover some fantastic activities and attractions that will make your Canada Day in Windsor Essex truly memorable.
FAMILY FRIENDLY FUN
Looking for fun activities the whole family can enjoy?
- Kingsville Arena has a fun-filled day of kid-friendly activities planned.
- Celebrate Canada’s 156th anniversary of Confederation with free admission at Fort Malden, open-air heritage demonstrations with hands on activities.
- Canada Day is better on the farm! Sunny Britches Acres will have hay rides, local vendors, farm animals, bouncy castles and more!
- Go fishing with your family for FREE! July 1st – 9th a fishing license is not needed, the perfect time to dip your toes and rods in the water!
- Spend Canada Day on the water with Windsor Premier Cruises, offering 2 great cruises to choose from throughout the day.
- There is nothing quite like Windsor’s Canada Day Parade, travelling along Wyandotte Street from Devonshire to Aylmer. Enjoy fan zones, entertainment and cupcakes!
- Atlas Tube Recreation Centre will host a family swim, family skate and open gym plus vendors, performances and food beginning at 4pm. Leave Those Kids Alone Band will perform at 7pm.
HAVE A BLAST
Celebrate with a bang by taking in one of these fireworks shows happening in all corners of Essex County:
- The Town of Kingsville will present a fireworks show at Lakeside Park at 10pm.
- In addition to family activities taking place at Atlas Tube Centre, take in the fireworks at dusk.
- Celebrate Canada Day island-style on Pelee Island with fireworks taking place at dusk at the West Dock.
- Following free concerts at Leamington’s Sunset Amphitheatre, a fireworks show will be launched from a barge on Lake Erie beginning at 10pm.
KEEP THE PARTY GOING
- Wolfhead Distillery Parking Lot Party with live entertainment, games and of course food & drinks!
- Enjoy a laid back Sunday sipping wine and listing to live music along the Lake Erie shoreline at Sprucewood Shores Estate Winery
- Head to Oxley Estate Winery for a delicious lunch and live music as part of their Sunday Sounds series.
