Finding an authentic Italian restaurant that serves fresh, delicious and fair priced items isn’t very difficult in Windsor. Windsor has an amazing selection of local restaurants.

Toscana Restaurant & Wine Bar is located between an Eyewear store and a bank — the perfect camouflage. Easily dismissed as nothing worth trying, that’s something far from the truth. This restaurant run by Jonathon Reaume who is also the head chef and puts out some of the best local cuisine Windsorites will ever experience.

South Windsor’s not so hidden gem has recently been updated and suggests a bar like atmosphere, resembling something out of New York without the loud, at times overwhelming music. Parting the restaurant is a floor to ceiling, transparent, temperature controlled wine cellar harbouring bottles of wine. In the back lies a more soft and discreet dim lit setting perfect for business meetings and romantic date nights.

All of their food is locally purchased and their veal parmagian is quite possibly the best in the city. Penne Bolognese is highly recommended for a full fledge Italian experience. The Warm Portobello Tower appetizer is a great starter that is bursting with flavour. If Italian isn’t cutting it for you, Scott Edmunds is at the front bar putting together fresh sushi.

This all goes to say, none of it would be complete without the astounding and knowledgeable staff that are there exactly when needed and are able to answer all of your questions, making for the perfect evening out.
