Stop 26 is a staple sight along the river front, offering a pleasant treat with a pleasant surrounding.

Stop 26 Ice Cream & More has been serving cool treats for over 9 years, but the location has been owned by the Sarakinis family for the past 34 years.

Prior to being an ice cream parlour, the location was Stop 26 Pizzeria, owned by Phany and her husband, Ted Sarakinis with the help of their two children. Phany still has a hand in the ice cream parlour and runs it with her son, Sam.

The establishment starts their season in early May, and ends it on Thanksgiving weekend.

Stop 26 offers 36 rotating flavours of hard ice cream, soft serve ice cream, slushies, milkshakes, floats, and a variety of specialty treats. Dairy free options are always available.

There is something for everyone at Stop 26, with specialties including strawberry shortcake sundaes, brownie overload sundaes, pineapple sundaes, and more. Toppings for any ice cream are also available, varying from sprinkles to gummy worms.

The shop also has a “healthier” menu, with frozen yogurt and smoothies being available with add-ins such as kale, flax, and spinach. Their smoothies are served with 100% real fruit with no sugar added.

While customers are able and welcomed to come inside the store to order and enjoy their dessert of choice, there is also a pick-up window for animal walkers and those taking a roller blade or bike ride to order conveniently.

Outdoor seating is also available, with a great view of Stop 26 beach overlooking Lake St. Clair.
