In the busyness that is Tecumseh Road, one store that will instantly catch your attention shines in bright red; it belongs to Palazzo Moda.

Opening nearly five years ago, this literal fashion palace has been known to be completely unique in its selection alone. Husband and wife owner duo, Jo-Anne and John Speziale, specialize in being apart of every aspect of their business.

“John has 37 years of experience in entrepreneurship, but we thought it was extremely important that we were apart of the selling and handling our customers ourselves,” says Jo-Anne Speziale of their specialty. “We, as buyers of these items, want to see what is actually selling and what people are interested in.”

The products come from all over the map, and – unlike most boutiques – makes Palazzo Moda exclusive to variety. “We have been to Atlanta, New York, Chicago… We want to see what we’re buying, we want to feel the materials in our hands,” speaks highly Speziale of their selection.

The shop carries everything from Prom to Grade 8 graduation dresses, with sizes varying from petite and plus. They have been recently popular for their bridal collections – including destination weddings! “We had a white prom dress in the window one time, and had a customer come in and tell us that it would be perfect for her wedding in Jamaica,” recalls Speziale. “Ever since, that part of the business has been extremely consistent.”

Towards the back of the boutique, you will find very private fitting rooms that the Speziale’s found critical for their business. “We want to accommodate all kinds of consumers, so we made this area strictly for religious or personal reasons.”

The “Bridal Loft” is a future bride’s dream room; with couches, a large fitting room, and a 3-way mirror complete with podium to stand upon, family members can feel relaxed, and you can feel like a princess without being watched from other customers shopping.

“My goal is to make these women feel comfortable and sexy in trying product on,” says Speziale. “I don’t even show the wedding dresses to the customer, I simply ask them ‘What do YOU want?’ and ‘What do YOU like?’ and I bring them options that we will both feel are best.”

Pick out the perfect gown, and say yes to the dress at Palazzo Moda! They are located at 1646 Tecumseh Road East, and are open 7 days a week from January until May to welcome the active crowds for prom and wedding season. Contact them at (519) 962-2715 for any further information.
