The fourth Goodwill Attended Donation Centre in Windsor opens this Saturday.
The centre is located at 1643 McDougall Street behind the old Elias Market. It will also be home to an 18,000-square-foot store which will open on November 28 and support more than 35 jobs.
Newly hired employees will accept donations of gently used clothing, furniture and other items like books, toys and dishes.
For every 50 people who donate at the site, Goodwill says that one full-time job is created.
“The success our long-term plan here relies on the community’s support,” says Kevin Smith, CEO for Goodwill Industries – Essex Kent Lambton. “If you have items in good condition, don’t throw them away. Drop them off at our donation centres to help create jobs.”
The Attended Donation Centre is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 9pm, Saturday from 9am to 6pm and Sunday from 10am to 5pm.
