Windsor Dance eXperience’s junior and senior companies will present Hans Christian Andersen’s “The Nightingale” this Saturday and Sunday only.
This literary classic is about an empress who fell in love with the beautiful song of the Nightingale, but after greedily keeping it in captivity, the empress replaced the nightingale with a beautiful mechanical counterpart. When the empress nears death, it is the song of the real nightingale that is needed most.
Adapted from Andersen’s book in 1843, this performance will be set to classic rock, and the message of true beauty is perfect for all ages.
The play runs Saturday at 7:30pm and on Sunday at 2pm. Tickets are $15 or $10 for kids aged 12 and under, and are available by phone at 519-253-2466, online at windsordanceexperience.ca/tickets, or at the Capitol Theatre prior to the show.
