National Beer Can Appreciation Day

Original blog by Tourism Windsor Essex

One of the great joys in life is an ice cold beer can in your hand. Whether you’re relaxing on a patio, gearing up for the game or tasting a flight at Essex County Breweries a can in your hand makes things just a little bit better.

To celebrate National Beer Can Appreciation Day on January 24th we’re giving a shout out to some of the most unique and eye-catching cans created by local breweries (and an honourable distillery mention).

Walkerville Brewery

Walkerville Brewery has updated their line-up of can designs. Check out their ever-popular Honest Lager, Rob Roy Scotch Ale, Easy Stout and more for the colourful favourites that taste as great as they look!

Chapter Two Brewing Co.  – Ford City Cream Ale

Chapter Two has brought back their Zug Island Porter – a true Windsor classic! With chocolate and deep toasty notes with a touch of caramel sweetness, the taste is just as much fun as the can!

Sandwich Brewing Co.

Sandwich Brewing Co.’s White Bronco comes in a can that is as awesome as the Juicy IPA. Head to Sandwich Brewing Co. for an in-person drink and then grab a six pack for home!

BREW Microbrewery

A can of beer is as Canadian as a 2-4 and maple syrup and BREW leans in the Canadian vibes with this malty smooth maple ale, spiced with fresh ginger root which finishes with subtle maple notes and a gentle hop bitterness. Tastes especially great with poutine or bacon too!

Banded Goose Brewing Co.

A beautiful sunset and a flock of geese flying overhead on this can will transport you to a warm summer evening with this West Coast IPA. Savour the taste of fresh peeled orange and soft pine needle on the nose with a slight caramel sweetness in the Flying V West Coast IPA.

The Beerded Dog

Putting the dogs front and centre brings an element of whimsy to the cans at The Beerded Dog Brewing Co. Their light and refreshing Who Let The Dogs Out (sing it out loud, we know you want to!) is their most popular – and fun to enjoy! Stop by, grab a pint and don’t forget to bring your dogs with you!

Cheers to National Beer Can Appreciation Day all year long with the Barrels Bottles & Brews Flight Log – a self-guided tour of the Windsor Essex Barrel Trail. There are three purchase options based on how you want to explore including a 1 day and 7 day passport, or you can become a Frequent Flyer and get a year’s worth of tastings and exclusive offers. All available to use digitally from your smart phone
