NATIONAL BEER CAN APPRECIATION DAY

One of the great joys in life is an ice cold beer can in your hand. Whether you’re relaxing on a patio, gearing up for the game or tasting a flight at Essex County Breweries a can in your hand makes things just a little bit better.

To celebrate National Beer Can Appreciation Day on January 24^th we’re giving a shout out to some of the most unique and eye-catching cans created by local breweries (and an honourable distillery mention).

WALKERVILLE BREWERY – HONEST LAGER

The flagship lager toasts to the history of Walkerville with their label and is brewed in accordance with Hiram Walker’s standards for pure, honest beers. The overall easy drinking character is attributed to its medium body, balanced bitterness and clean finish.

CHAPTER TWO BREWING CO.  – FORD CITY CREAM ALE

Chapter Two is located right in the heart of Ford City and pays homage to the area with this slightly sweet, grainy flavour with a dry, refreshing finish cream ale. The can showcases Morris Dry Goods which was located on Drouillard Rd and Chapter Two’s take on what the delivery guy would have driven and looked like if they were delivering their beer.

CRAFT HEADS BREWING COMPANY – FEATHER HAT GUY P.A.

Craft Heads has no shortage of creative and unique cans and would be a great place to celebrate National Beer Can Appreciation Day. Our pick is a toast to a true Windsor legend: Feather Hat Guy. Just like its namesake this beer will go anywhere. A bitter, hop-forward, citrus IPA.

BREW MICROBREWERY – MAPLE BEER

A can of beer is as Canadian as a 2-4 and maple syrup and BREW leans in the Canadian vibes with this malty smooth maple ale, spiced with fresh ginger root which finishes with subtle maple notes and a gentle hop bitterness. Tastes especially great with poutine or bacon too!

BANDED GOOSE BREWING CO. – FLYING V WEST COAST IPA

A beautiful sunset and a flock of geese flying overhead on this can will transport you to a warm summer evening with this West Coast IPA. Savour the taste of fresh peeled orange and soft pine needle on the nose with a slight caramel sweetness.

THE BEERDED DOG  – WHO LET THE DOGS OUT

Putting the dogs front and centre brings an element of whimsy to the cans at The Beerded Dog Brewing Co. Their light and refreshing Who Let The Dogs Out (sing it out loud, we know you want to!) is their most popular – and fun to enjoy! Stop by, grab a pint and don’t forget to bring your dogs with you!

HONOURABLE MENTION: J.P. WISER’S – ALUMNI WHISKY SERIES

While they may not be beer cans, but we’ll give an honourable mention to J.P. Wiser’s Alumni Whisky Series. The Alumni Association and J.P.
