The Windsor Essex County Health Unit has amended instructions for local recreation facilities.
The changes follow the letter of instruction that was issued September 27th regarding proof of vaccination requirements in local sport and recreation facilities.
This morning, the Health Unit posted an amended letter to their website which provides a 3 month grace period for those turning 12 years old during which they can receive two doses without missing time due to a recent change in their eligibility.
The Health Unit says the following addition was made to the Letter of Instruction:
- All individuals will be afforded a grace period of 3 months (12 weeks) from their 12th birthday during which they will be required to provide identification but not required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Once the individual reaches the 12 weeks post their birthday they must provide proof of vaccination in accordance with this Letter of Instruction and any applicable legislation.
The Health Unit says the revised letter of instruction has been shared with all municipalities operating recreation facilities and is effective immediately.
The full version of the revised letter is available on the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit website at: https://www.wechu.org/
