Three people had to be rescued after they became stranded on the ice on Lake St. Clair while fishing Saturday.
Emergency crews were called out around 11:00 am and airlifted them to safety while others managed to return to shore on their own.
Police are advising the public that due to fluctuating temperatures, the ice is unstable.
Large cracks have formed, creating gaps in the ice, making a very dangerous situation.
Police are asking the public to use extreme caution on the ice and ensure they have proper safety equipment and a communication device.
