Six months after closing their Devonshire Mall location, Anchor Coffee House announced the closure of their Huron Church location on Facebook Tuesday evening.
“Huron was our first brick & mortar location that we opened over seven years ago! Being in a business district surrounded by offices definitely hit hard when the lockdowns went into effect, and people started working mostly from home,” the post read.
Owners do say that COVID-19 was not the full reason for the closure.
“As much as we love the business district, we were in and our loyal regulars in the area, we had outgrown our tiny cafe kitchen a while ago. The Huron location was home to the catering side of our business and a hub for breakfast and lunch to the surrounding area.”
The post says that an opportunity to close this location was presented to them, and they decided to move their catering side of the business to the Walkerville location, where the kitchen space is much larger.
“Moving everything under one roof the last few months has proven to be a huge help in efficiency and team morale.”
