Camps To Be Offered If Schools Close Monday

If elementary schools are closed beginning October 7th, there are several options for parents.

Contract talks continue the province and CUPE who are set to walk off the job Monday.

The strike would close Catholic and French Catholic schools in Windsor-Essex. Public schools remain open.

Essex:

The Town of Essex will offer day camp programs at the Essex Community Centre for children ages 4 to 12 years. Children can be dropped off as early as 7:30am and picked up as late as 6:00pm. Pre-registration is required and space is limited. The cost per child is $35/day or $145/week.

Parents wishing to secure a spot for their child can register in advance. In the event that schools stay open, a full refund will be issued.

Registration can be done online by searching “Day Camp” at www.essexconnect.ca or by contacting the Essex Recreation Complex 519-776-8992. The Essex Recreation Complex (242 Talbot Street North) is also open for in-person registration.

LaSalle:

The Vollmer Complex will be operating a day camp program for children between the ages of 4 to 12 years. Children can be dropped off as early as 7:30am and picked up as late as 5:30pm. Pre-registration is required and space is limited. The cost per child is $35/day.

Parents wishing to secure a spot for their child can register in advance. In the event that schools are open, a full refund will be issued.

Registration can be done online at www.lasalle.ca/register or by visiting the Vollmer Complex front desk.

Springz Trampoline and Amusement Park:

Springz will be offering a Day Camp (full day, half day or 1 week) from 9am to 4pm for $45 OR 9am to 12:30 for $30 or full week for $200 for children between the ages of 6 to 12.
