LaSalle Police are investigating after a 20-year-old Windsor man was stabbed on Christmas Day.
Police say it happened just before 9pm in the area of Golfview Drive and Matchette Road.
Officers have determined that the suspect met the victim at a residence Windsor then left together in a vehicle. The pair intended to go to a bar but since it was Christmas, the bar was closed. The suspect continued to drive into LaSalle and stopped at a laneway near Matchette Road and Golfview Drive.
It was there that police say the suspect and the victim became involved in an altercation and the suspect stabbed the victim several times. The victim was able to flee on foot while the suspect drove away in an orange coloured Honda Element with an Arizona licence plate.
While bleeding heavily from his injuries, the victim staggered through a wooded area and approached several residences seeking help. A resident on Golfview Drive heard the victim’s plea and came to his assistance. Paramedics and police were contacted and the victim was transported to hospital for treatment.
The victim remains in stable condition with stab wounds to his upper torso and left arm area.
Officers continue to work on several leads to identify and locate the suspect.
