All campuses of St. Clair College are hosting open houses this Saturday.
The day runs from 10am to 1pm at all of the college’s campuses: Windsor’s main south campus, the Centre for the Arts, the MediaPlex and the Thames campus in Chatham.
Attendees will have the chance to tour the campuses, meet with faculty and students, explore new programs, learn about student services, tour residence and tour newer facilities on campus, like the new state-of-the-art SportsPlex.
Information sessions for parents will be held at 11am and noon at Windsor’s main and Chatham’s Thames campuses.
Dozens of local high school students will also be on campus participating in the St. Clair’s ‘Get Skilled’ high school skills competitions in a number of departments. At the Windsor Campus students will compete in architectural CAD, photography, culinary, carpentry, precision machining and automotive service. At the Thames Campus more than a dozen students from Chatham high schools will compete in photography and electrical installations. All those competing in the ‘Get Skilled’ competitions will be eligible to apply on line for a $500 tuition scholarship to St. Clair College!
In addition to the college-wide open house and ‘Get Skilled’ competitions, about 200 local students from Grades 4-12 will be participating in the Windsor Regional Science, Technology and Engineering Fair held at the main campus in Windsor. Their innovative projects will be on display for public viewing in the main building’s gymnasium.
