Chinese New Year Celebration Take Place At Devonshire Mall Sunday

The Lunar New Year begins on February 10th, and the Essex County Chinese Canadian Association is once again organizing community events to celebrate the most festive occasion on the Chinese calendar.
On Sunday at Devonshire Mall, the festivities open with a traditional Dragon Dance followed by Chinese Canadian arts and culture demonstrations – highlighting dance, music, the Chinese Zodiac, calligraphy, and a Children’s Arts & Crafts Corner.Â
Also featured will be New Year greetings from the God of Fortune, who will hand out Lai Si (lucky envelopes) for children, musical performances, Chinese Folk Dances, Qipao dancers, and Kung Fu and Tai Chi performances. Snacks and beverages will be available.
It runs from noon to 4:00pm in the Centre Court in front of The Bay.
