An annual tradition returns for the upcoming May long weekend.
The Mayor’s Walk along the riverfront and City of Windsor birthday celebration takes place on Saturday, May 21st, 2022.
The Mayor’s walk starts shortly before 10am at Ambassador Park. Mayor Drew Dilkens, and members of City Council will be on hand for the event kick-off. Representatives of the Multicultural Council of Windsor and Essex County will be there handing out country flags representing the homelands of many cultures and heritages that make Windsor such a multicultural and diverse place to live.
The Mayor’s Walk will proceed along the waterfront from Ambassador Park to Dieppe Gardens. It will pause at the base of the Great Canadian Flag to sing our national anthem and then continue back through Dieppe Gardens toward the Vision Corridor adjacent to Adventure Bay and the Chimczuk Museum.
Starting at 11am, Mayor Drew Dilkens will welcome the community to the 130th birthday party at the Vision Corridor just outside Adventure Bay and the Chimczuk Museum. The party will include free birthday hot dogs and cupcakes (while supplies last), entertainment on the ShowMobile outdoor stage, activities, crafts, face-painting, games, and displays in and around the park. Enjoy free admission to the Chimczuk Museum and the Art Gallery of Windsor, all in celebration of Windsor’s Birthday.
The day wraps up at 2pm.
