Health Unit COVID-19 Cases & Outbreaks Update For Tuesday

The Windsor Essex County Health Unit announced 72 new cases of COVID-19 in Windsor and Essex County on Tuesday. The Health Unit only reports high-risk cases as testing eligibility is still limited.

Total Cases & Active Cases

Total overall cases increased from on 36,532 on Monday, February 14th to 36,607 on Tuesday, February 15th.

There are 496 cases of COVID-19 currently active in Windsor-Essex (decrease of 39 cases since yesterday).

Vaccinations

Here’s the Health Unit’s vaccination update for today (residents of Windsor-Essex).

• 354,611 people have received at least one dose of a vaccine (+158 since yesterday)
• 338,704 people have received both doses of a vaccine (+231 since yesterday)
• 184,227 people have received a 3rd dose/booster shot of a vaccine (+280 since yesterday)

Vaccination Percentages

• 85.9 per cent of Windsor-Essex residents (ages 5+) have received at least one dose of a vaccine (increase of < 0.1 per cent since yesterday)
• 82.1 per cent of Windsor-Essex residents (ages 5+) are fully vaccinated (increase of 0.1 per cent since yesterday)
• 52.6 per cent of Windsor-Essex residents (ages 18+) have received a 3rd dose/booster (increase of < 0.1 per cent since yesterday)

Deaths

The Health Unit announced one additional death from COVID-19 bringing the local death toll to 573. They say a woman in her 70s from the community passed away.

The Health Unit 48 hospitalizations today (decrease of 1), and 6 of those hospitalizations are in the ICU (decrease of 2).
