Louise Elder of Belle River won an Ontario 49 second prize worth $50,000 in the September 9th, 2021 draw. Louise also won $3,430 on other Ontario 49 selections on the same ticket, and $5 on her Encore selection bringing her total winnings to $53,435.
Elder said she knew she had a special ticket, but didn’t know how special. “I started to look at the numbers and thought I needed to go to the store,” she shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her winnings. “I knew not to get too excited until it was confirmed!”
The 72-year-old retiree said it feels very nice to win and she’s settling into her excitement now. “I’m still going to play my regular numbers!” she laughed.
She plans to save her winnings and plan a celebration when the pandemic is over.
The winning ticket was purchased at Food Basics on Manning Road in Tecumseh.
