36 New Cases Of COVID-19 In Windsor Essex On Wednesday

The Windsor Essex County Health Unit announced 36 new cases of COVID-19 in Windsor and Essex County on Wednesday, bringing the local total to 13,260.

Today’s New Cases

Cases increased from 13,224 on Tuesday March 9th to 13,260 on Wednesday March 10th and 274 cases of COVID-19 are currently active in Windsor-Essex.

The Health Unit says 1 case is outbreak related, 8 cases are close contacts of confirmed cases, 5 cases are community-acquired, and 22 cases are still being investigated by the Health Unit’s nursing staff.

Vaccinations

Here’s the Health Unit’s vaccination update for today:

  • 10,693 people have received only their first dose of the vaccine (+1,090 since yesterday)
  • 11,755 people have received both doses of the vaccine (full series) (+110 since yesterday)
  • A total of 34,203 doses have been administered to Windsor-Essex County residents (+1,310 since yesterday)

Resolved Cases

The Health Unit lists 12,592 total resolved cases.

That’s an increase of 16 resolved cases today.

Deaths

There have been no additional deaths from COVID-19 today and the local death toll stands at 394.

Hospitalizations

The Health Unit lists 39 hospitalizations today: 27 people in acute care, and 12 people in the ICU with confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Windsor Essex.
