The Windsor Essex County Health Unit announced 142 new cases of COVID-19 in Windsor and Essex County on Monday, bringing the local total to 9,815.

Today’s New Cases

Cases increased from 9,673 on Sunday January 10th to 9,815 on Monday January 11th and 2,728 cases of COVID-19 are currently active in Windsor-Essex.

The Health Unit says 11 cases are outbreak-related, 3 cases are close contacts of confirmed cases, 2 cases are community acquired, and 126 cases are still being investigated by the Health Unit’s nursing staff.

Recoveries

The Health Unit lists 6,877 total recoveries.

That’s an increase of 55 recoveries today.

Deaths

There have been no new deaths from COVID-19 today and the local death toll stands at 210.

Hospitalizations

The Health Unit lists 99 hospitalizations today: 82 people in acute care (8 more today), and 17 (1 less today) people in the ICU with confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Windsor Essex.
