Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare in West Windsor will be permitting visitors once more, the hospital announced Thursday.
Officials say starting Monday, August 17th, each hospital patient will have the option of selecting one individual who will be their registered visitor.
They say the patient’s selected visitor will be able to visit seven days a week during one of two time blocks: 11:00am to 1:00pm or 4:30pm to 6:30pm. Patients can select a visitor and then notify the manager on the unit so that the visitor can be registered with their screening desk.
If the patient is under enhanced precautions, or has tested positive for COVID-19, the hospital will however not allow a registered visitor.
The new visitor initiative builds on the hospital’s Coordinated Care Plan announced in June which allows a “designated care partner” — family or a close friend, whom a patient identifies as their support in care — to provide care to patients within a defined period of time.
The hospital is also expanding that program which will allow designated care partners to be on site seven days a week, between 10:30am and 6:30pm.
“I am so happy that our patients have been able to have a loved one by their side,” said Janice Kaffer, President and CEO. “We have been able to welcome over 155 individuals onto our campus through this program.”
