The City of Windsor is making plans as the Greater Essex County District School Board is expected to close schools this Wednesday, should no new deal in teacher talks be reached

This would also mean the closure of the EarlyON Child and Family Centre’s located within the GECDSB system.

The city says that for information on EarlyON Child and Family Centres that will be open throughout Windsor-Essex, you can contact 519-255-5344.

For information on Child Care and/or Child Care Subsidy (including approved day camp programs), throughout Windsor-Essex, you can contact Children’s Services Intake line at: 519-255-5312.

In preparation of this potential action, the City of Windsor Recreation Department is now taking registrations for day camp programs on January 8th, 2020 for ages 4 and up at the Capri Pizzeria Recreation Complex and the Optimist Community Centre.

The fee for this camp is $32.00 per day, and children can be dropped off for this program as early as 7:30am and picked up as late as 5:30pm.

Parents wishing to secure a spot for their child can register at any time at any of the city’s community centres.

Both locations offering this program will be open at 7:30am on January 8th, 2020 and prepared to take registrations. In the event that schools are open, a full refund will be issued.
