Body Pulled From The Detroit River

Windsor Police are looking to identify a deceased male that was located in the water near the 9200 block of Riverside Drive East.
On Friday, July 19th, at approximately 6pm, police were alerted to a male that appeared to be swimming in the Peche Island Channel and may have been in need of assistance. The Windsor Police Service Marine Unit, along with other assisting agencies, searched the area extensively for the swimmer, however were unable to locate anyone in the water. The search for the swimmer was subsequently called off due to an extreme weather pattern moving into the area.
Around 11:45am on Monday, July 22nd, 2019 a deceased male was located in the water near the 9200 block of Riverside Drive East, in the vicinity the swimmer from July 19th had last been observed.
The deceased male is believed to be the same person police were searching for.
The male was located without any identification and investigators are seeking any information that may help to identify him.
The male is described as 5’8″ to 5’10”, 170 lbs., olive/brown skin tone, medium build, dark shoulder length hair, full dark beard, 35 – 50 yrs. old, wearing a “Denim And Flower” brand short sleeve button down shirt in a size large (pattern pictured below), dark coloured jeans, size 10 black and brown Nike high-top shoes, wearing a necklace with a “Buddha” pendant.
The death is not believed to be suspicious in nature.
