Lakeshore Council has approved repairs to the Belle River Marina boat ramp docks after water levels impacted operations.
While many of the docks at the Marina are floating docks that are able to adjust to water levels, the boat ramp docks are stationary. With the high water levels, the boat ramp dock is submerged in three sections by approximately 4 to 6 inches.
These docks are no longer safe for boaters or Marina staff.
The Town has identified an interim solution which is to install a new two foot section of dock on top of the 35 foot existing main stationary dock for the remainder of the 2019 season. The work is anticipated to take two weeks and return the boat dock ramp to normal level of service in mid to late August.
A new floating boat ramp dock will be proposed for 2020.
