A multi-faith Celebration Of Life is planned for this Wednesday to remember those who have passed away and were unclaimed for burial, for those who died alone, and for those who have gone without a funeral or some other celebration of their life lived.

It was back in 2014 that Victoria Manor lost three residents in one week, none of whom had a funeral.

Executive Director Leigh Vachon says that when one of the residents told her that “it’s like they were never here, it’s like we don’t matter,” she realized that they needed to do much more to ensure that anyone who resided in the home would be remembered.

That is when the idea of the Celebration of Life was born, and the first Celebration of life was held last year.

This year it will be held at Good Shepherd Parish located at 462 Advance Blvd. in Lakeshore starting at 7pm.
