“Kristen and I have been friends for ten years and we both like the game of football,” shared Chris while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto with Kristen where the pair picked up their winnings. “Kristen added, “We each choose our own picks. Then we call each other to discuss the teams we chose and we come to a consensus fairly quickly. Sometimes there is a bit of back-and-forth but it’s always good fun and clearly it’s all worth it too!”
The longtime friends plan on splitting the win evenly. “It is an incredible amount of money,” said Chris.
The two already have plans for their windfall. “Clearly I am a huge sports fan, especially football. I would love to travel across North America and watch a few of my favourite teams in some of the most iconic stadiums,” shared Chris.
Meanwhile, Kristen wants to help her daughter with her post-secondary education. “My daughter is my world and I want her to have the best education possible. I am starting to save for her university years right now. We’re also renovating our basement with a new family room, new play area and wonderful place to relax with family and friends. Winning the lottery provides our family with a nice nest egg,” concluded Kristen.
The winning ticket was purchased at Happy Days Mini Mart on Aldersbrook Road in London.
