Essex Town Council is hosting two walkabouts in the business districts of Essex Centre and Harrow Centre this week, and the public is welcome to join.
“The tour of the downtown cores with staff and council is an opportunity to look at recent improvements as a result of investment made through the Community Improvement Plan program,” says Mayor Ron McDermott. “It will also help us identify any revitalization opportunities that the Town can undertake as part of future municipal initiatives.”
The Essex Centre Walkabout takes place on Monday, September 26th starting at 3:30pm from Town Hall.
The Harrow Centre Walkabout takes place on Tuesday, October 11th, starting at 6pm from Harrow Veterans Memorial Park on King Street.
Minutes from the walkabouts will be prepared for Council’s consideration at a future meeting.
Council previously conducted walkabouts in September 2015 for the purpose of conducting visual inspections of the commercial cores from the perspective of property standards and general appearance. A report containing observations and recommendations was presented to Council in March 2016.
