The National Basketball League of Canada announced Saturday morning the reinstatement of Express head coach Bill Jones.
Jones had been serving a suspension, originally slated for one year, stemming from an incident during the 2014-15 NBL Canada Finals.
Several weeks ago an appeal was submitted to Commissioner Magley & League President Frijia, to consider a reinstatement.
The league ruled that the suspension would be reduced to 20 games in the 2015-16 season, and Friday night’s game in Niagara was the Express’ 20th.
The Express will face off against their division rivals, the London Lightning, Saturday night at the WFCU Centre. Jones will be on the bench for the first time this season on Saturday as he takes over head coaching duties from interim head coach and older brother, Tony Jones.
