For 10 years, Windsor’s Knobby’s Kids skating and hockey program allows children in Windsor, who cannot afford skates and hockey equipment, an opportunity to learn to skate and play hockey every Saturday morning from 8 to 11am at Lanspeary Park Outdoor Ice Rink.
Last year, over 200 children participated in the weekly free skating and hockey.
Today, the St. Clair College Alumni Association donated $5,000 to the children and organizers of the Knobby’s Kids Hockey and Skating Program.
The donation will cover all the costs of ice rental and insurance for the winter program at Lanspeary Park.
This program was founded by Robert “Knobby” Knudsen who passed away in 2011.
