This week is Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week in Ontario.
Part of the goals of this week is for students, families and staff of school communities to learn more about bullying and its effect on learning and student well-being.
Public schools in the Windsor-Essex area schools have each developed their own plans to expand their knowledge and enhance their school climates.
In addition, all Grade 7 students public student will attend a powerful and thought-provoking dramatic presentation, “My Daughter Veera” during Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week.
This production, staged by students from the Walkerville Centre for the Creative Arts, and its accompanying activities stresses the important role individual students can play in helping reduce and prevent bullying and violence at their school.
There will also be public performances on Monday at 7pm at Migration Hall in Kingsville and on Tuesday at 7pm at Walkerville Collegiate Institute.
