Scarehouse Windsor, the haunted house, returns back to downtown this October.

Located this year at 576 Ouellette Avenue, organizers say that it is the biggest space they have had to date.

“The space we have this year is spread out over 3 floors. It’s over 20 000 square feet. The basement is legitimately creepy. Not just for the haunt but for us working it. When it’s just us, we hear things. We hear whispers and suddenly there would be a cold breeze blow. Which is impossible because it’s a basement. When you go down our stairs in our haunt, you for real should be concerned because we never go down there alone,” says organizer Shawn Lippert.

This year’s Scarehouse is filled with movie-like sets.  “We are the only haunt in South-Western Ontario that legitimately worked on a full feature movie set that was distributed by D Films and Universal Pictures called the Scarehouse. It was released last year in Canada and will be released in the USA mid October,” said Lippert.

He says that the space at Tecumseh Mall last year didn’t allow them to stretch their creative muscles.  “It wasn’t a good space to do what we like to do and that’s to scare people out of their minds. This year we had a blank slate and all the space we could ever want.”

Scarehouse is open every Friday and Saturday in October from 7pm to 11pm.  Staring October 22nd, it is open ever night.

Cost is $15 per person.  More information can be found on their website.
