When the new downtown Campus of the University of Windsor opens this fall, students and staff will have several options for parking and commuting between the main and downtown campus
Parking permits will be sold for the parking garage that is directly west of the Pitt/Ferry building at the same rate as the parking structure on main campus. A Compark lot located south of University Avenue between Church Street and Dougall Avenue offers student parking permits at the same cost as those on the main campus.
Permit holders can also use them on the main campus in the parking lot at Askin and University Avenue.
The permits are available at the Parking Services office on the main campus.
Transit Windsor has also increased the frequency of buses between the main campus and downtown on two relevant routes, the Transway 1C along University Avenue and the Crosstown 2 along Wyandotte Street.
Buses run weekdays every 10 minutes from 7am to 9am, every 15 minutes from 9am to noon, every 10 minutes from 2pm to 6pm and 30 minutes after 6pm.
In addition, the distance between the two campuses is a brisk 35-minute walk or a 10-minute bike ride through dedicated lanes on University Avenue.
