Monica Staley has been appointed to the position of Regional Vice President, Cancer Services, Windsor Regional Hospital and Erie St. Clair Regional Cancer Program, Cancer Care Ontario.
Staley will be responsible for the cancer program and renal dialysis, both regional programs associated with Windsor Regional Hospital. In addition, she will continue to be the senior staff responsible for the Office of the Patient Representative and Risk Management.
She will lead the program’s Regional Cancer Centre, and Regional Cancer Program, working with physicians, hospitals, cancer service providers, and patient and community groups to plan and implement improvements to cancer services in the region.
Staley began her career as a front line Registered Nurse, working at both Windsor Regional Hospital and the Tecumseh Urgent Care Centre. She was a consultant for the Paediatric Advanced Life Support and her interest in law lead to becoming a Medical Legal Consultant and Lawyer Associate with local law firms.
She expanded her career to become an Adjunct Professor at the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry and, in 2010, became the Director of Patient Relations/Legal Affairs for Windsor Regional Hospital. S
