Windsor firefighters extinguished a blaze at a downtown cigar shop early Monday afternoon.

Crews were called to the Havana Smoke Shop in the 500 block of Ouellette just before noon and found heavy smoke coming from the front of the store.

Firefighters knocked down the blaze within minutes. They also found smoke in the neighbouring bar.

Officials say the fire started on storage room shelving, but the exact cause is undetermined.

Damage is set at $100,000.
