A new breastfeeding app designed at the University of Windsor was launched this week.

The When You Need It App provides parents with answers to commonly asked breastfeeding questions and allows them to track feedings, diaper changes and records of their child’s growth.

The App was created in partnership with the Building Blocks for Better Babies Program, UWindsor’s Faculty of Nursing, the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit, and the School of Computer Science, with support from the Government of Ontario through Health Nexus.

When You Need It is designed to be interactive and fun to use and is filled with pictures, helpful diagrams and videos that provide a one-stop experience. The app also has a Get Help section with links to sources of additional community support.

The app, available for Android and iPhone devices, can be downloaded free from Google Play and the App Store.
