A brand new section of EC Row has opened to traffic.
The new eastbound lanes of EC Row Expressway from Ojibway Parkway to Huron Church opened to vehicles, Monday afternoon, along with the eastbound off-ramp at Huron Church Road.
The new lanes are situated further south than the old lanes, which were decommissioned last year, and were constructed to connect to the new Herb Gray Parkway which will run between the two directions of EC Row.
The stretch of road includes the opening of three permanent structures: Bridge 3 (eastbound EC Row overpass over the future Parkway), Bridge 5 (Malden Road overpass), and Bridge 6 (eastbound EC Row overpass over the future Parkway, west of the future Spring Garden Tunnel).
The second lane of westbound EC Row will remain closed while construction crews continue to build the Parkway between the eastbound and westbound lanes.
