Prolific local music video maker Jarret Sorko has released a second video as part of his new album and the video takes a look at what became of Boblo Island’s amusement park.
Sorko, best known for his 2011 YouTube hit “Yo, I’m from Windsor Dude”, recently released a follow up hit entitled “519″ featuring such lyrics as “riding e-bikes down Huron Line,” “the pollution’s bad [and] makes the sunset pretty” and talks about well-known downtown-dweller Feather Hat Man.
Now the entertainer who describes his work at “self-deprecating comedic rap type music” is showcasing a bit of local history.
While “Dope” doesn’t contain any Windsor-specific lyrics — which may be Sorko’s forte — the video does succeed in being part of the singer’s move towards taking his music more seriously.
Upon 519’s release, Sorko said he spent a great deal of time learning a lot about music. “I spent the last 3 years working on my writing and musical abilities so that my next release would be able to be articulated exactly how I want it.”
