Mitchell’s Bay as seen on Google Maps.

Three men were rescued after their boat overturned.

OPP say that just before 9am Wednesday, they were called to a collision involving an air boat on Lake St. Clair, near Mitchell’s Bay, approximately one half mile from shore.

The collision occurred when the boat, carrying three men, struck an object in the water, causing it to veer and overturn.

The three men, a 73-year-old from Mitchell’s Bay, a 74-year-old from Tupperville and a 69-year-old from Bass Haven, were briefly submerged in the 4’ deep water before climbing up onto the overturned boat to signal for help. An individual on shore, who had seen what occurred called police while a nearby fisherman attended in his boat and transported the three men to safety.
