After less than a year of construction, the new combined HD Taylor / Benson grade school on Campbell Avenue in West Windsor is really coming together.
Foundation work was completed last summer, structural beams erected, interior walls enclosed and now interior work has begun.
The new school building was designed by Glos Assoicates as will feature 54,190 square feet of learning space on two floors with space for 529 students. The property will also have a bus bay, kiss n’ ride area and 79 parking spaces.
The total cost of the new school is $9,988,077.
The new school will eventually replace Dr. H.D Taylor Public School and Benson Public Schools.
The new school is expected to be ready for the start of the 2014 school year. Once complete, the old Taylor school will then be demolished around May or June 2014. The future of the old Benson building has not yet been determined.
