Windsorites seeking sporting clubs and teams have a new method to get in touch with their city’s athletic organizations.

Active City Windsor is a new online directory for various sporting and fitness outlets in the Windsor area. Covering a full spectrum of leagues and sports, the website and Facebook page initiative provides you with a map of your area, highlighting all the activities available to you. The digital directory provides addresses and contact information to help get you in touch with organizers of you sport of choice.

The founder of the site, Nick Mastromattei combined his passion for soccer and his background in web development to create the site.

“As an avid soccer player, I was looking for other activities and ways to stay fit in the city. I noticed that there were very few places that you could find a curated directory of all the sports and more importantly when the registration days started,” said Mastromattei. “When I found out through word of mouth it was usually too late and the season or classes had already started.”

Sport and league organizers can submit their own listing to the directory allowing public participation and growth.

“They can add their organization name, contact info, links to their website and social networks, an overview of their services, a photo gallery and even videos. After they have added their listing, they can also create events to promote exclusive deals, promotions and when to register for upcoming seasons or classes,” said Mastromattei.

The site has plans to expand its services to include sports news, event reviews, video interviews, online registrations and ways to organize pickup games for the community.

ACW will be a sponsor of this year’s sporthobbyexpo.com and has plans to become a familiar face involved within the community.  If you have a New Year’s resolution to get fit or stay active ACW is the place to start.

“Whether you’re looking to sign your kid up for little league, find a team for yourself, recruit for your club or even advertise your business – we’re your way to get in the game. Think windsoreats.com for sports,” said Mastromattei.
