The Sea Dragon, a 72-foot sailing vessel, arrived in Windsor Monday afternoon for an eight-day stay in Dieppe Gardens.  The ship will be in port during the Tall Ships Festival.

With a mandate to educate, research and report on marine conservation, this is the yacht’s first trip to the Great Lakes. During its three-month tour of the region, the Sea Dragon has focused on uncovering and sharing the untold stories of the Great Lakes.

On Tuesday, from 11 am to 7 pm, the public is invited to tour the ship and learn about its research on the Great Lakes. The tour is free and includes a visit below deck.

The Sea Dragon has sailed a staggering 70,000 miles across the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans carrying out research on the marine environment. The Great Lakes 2013 summer trip to Windsor has been designed for educators from across North American to encourage scientific and arts education. The ship will leave Windsor on Monday, September 2 for Cleveland, Ohio and then Toronto.
