On fireworks Monday, leave the traffic headaches behind and ride your bicycle downtown.
Beginning at 7pm, you can bring your bike to Charles Clark Square and lock it up safely at the Windsor Bicycling Committee valet bike parking corral. Volunteers from the committee will be on hand all evening, watching the bikes and ensuring their safety.
Cyclists are asked to bring a lock for their bike, which the volunteers will use the lock to keep your bike even safer while they watch over it. Each rider will receive a ticket to hold onto during the evening; you’ll have to return this ticket in order to retrieve your bike. This free service will be available for everyone from 7pm until 12 midnight.
Organizers also remind you to wear your helmet and light-coloured clothing, and don’t forget to put lights on your bikes for the ride home after the fireworks!
