Preparations for the University of Windsor’s 50th Anniversary weekend are in full swing, and now another day of festivities has been added, which will now run from Thursday September 19th to Sunday September 22nd.

A special, to-be-announced concert event will open the 50th Anniversary weekend at Caesars Windsor beginning at  8pm on Thursday September 19th.   Caesars Windsor is a major sponsor of the anniversary weekend and will announce the name of this world-class act on July 10th.

Among the many weekend activities is a vintage car show, Future Lancer Kids’ Zone, campus showcase tours, winery and heritage tours, the Windsor Lancer Fun Run, as well as a football game featuring a pre-game tailgate party concert with singers Jody and son Billy Raffoul, who will also perform at half-time.

Returning alumni can look forward to the Rock of All Ages mix and mingle party taking place in the Dillon quad area from 7 pm to 9pm on Friday September 20th. Alumni can reconnect and reminisce with classmates and friends, share memories and dance under the stars to music from five decades.

Community members and alumni are now invited to register their interest in attending the weekend activities online here.

Holly Ward, Chief Communications Officer, said, “Through the website, visitors are able to register their attendance to both ticketed and non-ticketed events, to mark their calendars and get ready to celebrate the University’s exciting milestone this September. It’s a wonderful opportunity to return to campus, or visit it for the first time.”

A full list of information on special rates for accommodations, activities, alumni fun-facts and photos, and sponsorship is available at the Universities 50th anniversary website found here.
