Six-year-old entrepreneur Taylor Blais of Brampton Ontario started an annual charity BBQ and yard sale back in 2010 to show support for her brother Tyler and others affected by Autism.
Now ten, Taylor is hosting the fourth-annual edition of the event this weekend in Cottam. Taylor is joined by her parents Liz and Phillip, her uncle Ron, aunt Bonnie and cousins Brianna, Andrew, Jessica and Kyle who help to sell pop, yard sale items, raffle tickets and BBQ’d hot dogs.
In 2012, the BBQ sold 300 hotdogs in three hours and organizers are shooting to sell 400 this year.
The event, which coincides with Cottam’s annual Community Yard Sale, will be held Saturday June 1st at 1 William Street in Cottam. It starts at 8am.
Proceeds from BBQ sales benefit the ErinoakKids Centre and Autism Services Windsor-Essex County.
