Demolition To Begin At Grace Site Next Week

The demolition of Grace Hospital is set to begin next week, starting with the smaller buildings on site.

City officials say that it is expected the carpentry shop and boiler room with the smoke stack (pictured above) will be the first building to come down, followed by the Brett Building at the corner of Oak and University.

Work continues on schedule, and the removal of designated substances from the interior starting with the Brett Building at Oak and University. That work is almost complete.

The full demolition is expected to take about five months to complete.
