Volunteers will be supporting local charities at Devonshire Mall this Saturday as the Muslim community of Windsor launches the 7th annual Charity Food Drive.
A large number of volunteers will be at the Centre Court, in front of The Bay, filling over 1000 bags with food and personal items for families in need.
Shoppers are asked to bring some of the following staple, in-demand items: Pasta, pasta sauce, flour, sugar, salt, cooking oil, canned fruits and vegetables, soup, rice, toothpaste and bar soap. You can also donate $20, enough to fill one of the eco-bags, which are provided by Devonshire Mall.
The Windsor Homes Coalition, Unemployed Help Centre, Drouillard Place, Hiatus House, Well-Come Centre, Salvation Army, Downtown Mission, Lakeshore Community Housing Association, Children’s Aid Society, Canadian Mental Health Association and the Islamic Social Welfare Association are just a few of the charities that will benefit from this worthwhile cause.
The event runs from 9am – 6pm.
