The old Drama Building was built in 1953 and is a one story building with a partial second floor and partial basement which connected to the University’s vast network of high pressure steam utility tunnels. It has been sitting idle since the Jackman Dramatic Art Centre opened in September 2003.
When demolition is compete, construction of a new Campus Welcome Centre will begin. Construction will displace the visitor lot located next to the Old Drama building.
